Nissan Sylphy Concept previews the next generation Sentra

Nissan unveiled the production-ready Sylphy Concept at the ongoing Auto China 2012 in Beijing yesterday. Though Nissan has not announced it, the Slyphy Concept previews the next generation Sentra, a C-Segment sedan that locks horns with the Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic. The Sylphy is a family sedan laying emphasis on a spacious and comfortable interior and is aimed at providing an economical ownership experience.

Nissan has added a twist of excitement to the conventional design by infusing LED units on the edges of the head- and tail-lights of the Sylphy. There's plenty of chrome trim around the body to give it a premium appearance. If the exterior design has to be summed up in two words, it is 'mini Altima.'
Nissan explains that it has packed generous levels of shoulder room and legroom for all passengers. Nissan also claims class leading boot space according to the press release documenting the concept's launch. Nissan has worked on noise and vibration absorption and provides comfort and convenience through dual zone climate control, intelligent key and keyless push-button start. Some of these features are available on higher variants of cars smaller than the Sylphy, like Micra and Sunny for exampleA new 1.8-liter engine and next-generation XTRONIC CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) has been shoe-horned under the bonnet that benefits from the inclusion of technologies like continuously variable valve timing and Diamond Like Carbon (DLC) coating on the valve lifters. The press release does not explicitly describe the driveline package.oon after its introduction in China, the production version of the Nissan Sylphy will be introduced in 120 international markets by the end of 2014.
