Mercedes G63 AMG unveiled ahead of global premiere at Beijing

Mercedes Benz published pictures and information of the 2013 G-Class last week. However it did not include any details on the performance variant tuned by AMG, leaving many of us scratching our heads. Now the German auto maker has put out some pictures and information on the G63 AMG and it quite literally has blows us away! The G63 replaces the G55 AMG, making its global premiere at the Beijing Motor Show next week.

Under the hood, the Mercedes G63 boasts of a bi-turbo V8 engine (featured on high-end Mercedes Benz models such as the CLS 63 AMG and SL 63 AMG) producing 536bhp and 760Nm of torque. It is linked to a 7-speed transmission that delivers power to a four-wheel drive system with three electrically controlled differential locks.
To lower fuel consumption, Mercedes has fitted it with a start-stop system. Claimed fuel consumption is 13.8 L/100km with CO2 emissions of 322 g/km.The exterior of the G63 AMG is adorned with LED daytime running lights, new front bumper design with additional air ducts, a twin-bar grille, bigger alloy wheels and side mounted exhausts. The interior has been upgraded using bespoke instruments, carbon fiber trim, and dual tone leather seats.The 2012 G63 AMG is priced at €137,504.50 (converts roughly into 662,560 UAE Dirhams). It hits the market in June in Europe, and will slowly trickle into international markets in a phased manner.
