Ferrari begins testing out new Enzo prototypes as more speculations emerge on its driveline

Like its peers, Ferrari does not open up on the future plans and leaves plenty of room for blogs, magazines and websites to speculate on its forthcoming vehicles. Ferrari has started testing new, heavily clad prototypes, believed by all automotive websites as the successor to the Enzo and that has given rise to rife speculations.
AutoMiddleEast.com had played out an update on the Enzo revival in mid-March speculating on a 7.3-liter petrol engine working with a
F1-derived KERS system drives the wheels. But according to a recent report in Motor Trend magazine, this may not be accurate.
The next generation Enzo could pump out 920hp with help from an electric motor
Motor Trend reports that the next generation Enzo, likely to don the F70 monicker (a practice that dates back to the F40 in the late 80′s) and said to premiere at the Geneva Motor Show in March next year, will derive power from a hybrid powertrain.
The Ferrari F70 may use a heavily modified edition of the 6.3-liter V12 petrol engine propelling the new FF GT and F12Berlinetta, making around 800 horsepower linked to a KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System) that adds 120bhp from an electric motor. Together, it will make the F70 feature among the most powerful Ferraris ever made, pumping out a whopping 920bhp!
An educated guess would be that the 2013 Ferrari Enzo will be more aerodynamic, fuel efficient and safer compared to its predecessor that bid adieu back in 2004.
Ferrari has not made any comments on these claims and is seen rigorously testing heavily camouflaged prototypes, sporting the easily recognizable 458 Italia-inspired headlights around Italy. Ferrari may conduct a private screening of this model to select clients later this year before it is unveiled to the public at the Geneva Motor Show next year.
