Lamborghini Urus is the Lamborghini of all SUVs!

Lamborghini unveiled the Urus SUV at the Beijing Auto Show that may preview the spiritual successor to the LM002 from the 1980′s. The origin of the name is usual from the world of bulls bred for the last 500 years. At 4.99m long, 1.99m wide and 1.66m tall, the Urus is slightly larger than the BMW X6 while sitting 30mm lower. The X6 is one of the chief rivals of the Lamborghini Urus.

Lamborghini has stated that the engine (without mentioning if it is a front- or rear-engined) produces 600bhp and has the lowest carbon dioxide emission in its category. Speculations are ripe on the internet that the production model could get re-tuned version of the V10 engine in the R8. The engine is coupled with a dual-clutch gearbox.

The platform architecture of the Lamborghini SUV is expected to be the same structure supporting the Bentley EXP 9 F and future iterations of the VW Touareg, Porsche Cayenne and Audi Q7.Carbon fiber technology is used generously around the car and on the interiors to keep the weight down.  A lower center of gravity, lower fuel consumption, faster speed shedding and better handling are indirect benefits of this weight reduction program.Lamborghini wants the Urus to provide a basic level of off-roading experience to its customers which is possible through the AWD system and a height adjustable suspension.
Lamborghini plan to make 3,000 units every year and studies have shown that most Lamborghini customers own sports utility vehicles from other brands and might want to switch to the Urus.
