By issuing an invitation to its booth carrying a sketch of the main
exhibit, Lamborghini confirmed that they were bringing a crossover type
of vehicle to the Beijing Motor Show next week. They were mum about the
details and hoped the suspense would build up favorably.
The internet had other ideas. The Lamborghini Crossover SUV concept, branded Urus, has been leaked by Czech website AutoForum.cz. The first pictures show that the DNA of the brand is intact despite the growth in proportions.
The front-end is typical Lambo with enlarged side pockets besides the squared and minimised headlight assembly pushed to the extreme edges. The livery on the concept is similar to the one seen on the one-off Aventador J displayed at Geneva. The Urus Concept understandably lacks conventional side mirrors, wipers, door handles, etc. It looks sleek with plenty of sharp lines and a different rear hatch. It could be the same size as the Audi Q7 but with the silhouette similar to the BMW X6. It could be shod with ridiculously large 24 inch wheels.Rumors recently suggested that Lamborghini could bring back the LM002 nameplate from the 1980′s and position the Urus as the spiritual successor to it. What lies beneath the bonnet is anyone's guess at this moment. A 5.2-liter V10 engine producing 584bhp is speculated. What are your thoughts on the Urus? Were you expecting something less heavy in terms of design? What would you like Lamborghini to work on when the concept turns into a production car? We'll bring you the full details from Beijing on the 23rd of April, so stay tuned to AutoMiddleEast.com!
