Hackers will be having a tougher time trying to hack into Twitter users’ accounts thanks to the social media hub’s new security technology.
Via a blog post yesterday, Twitter stated that new measures known as “forward secrecy” are currently being put into use for the purpose of protecting user information. In the statement, Twitter verified the new form of security as the most recent way it will take action in trying to defend its users’ accounts.
Twitter considers protecting user privacy to be a chief concern, so it comes as no surprise that this is being done through this new system being implemented. Over a year ago, Twitter worked mostly through the HTTPS (Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure) protocol.
Individual sessions now have new keys under the novel system. This means that it is impossible for them to be decrypted by a master key.
Now, Twitter is encouraging others to take part in the same security procedures since the company believes that this generation is in the most need of applying them.
Many, including Yahoo! and Google, are indeed following in Twitter’s steps, since they have also been strengthening their networks through similar methods.
